I have never been a huge croissant gal — I like them, they’re fine, but they’ve never been my go-to bakery item. I was really excited when Hero Bread offered me the chance to try them. The brand sells a variety of low-carb options such as bread, buns, rolls, tortillas, and of course, these croissants.
I have PCOS (which looks different in everyone who has it), and one of the things I personally deal with is a not-so-great reaction to carbohydrates. That doesn’t mean I don’t eat carbs at all, it simply means I consume them in moderation. I also am always on the lookout for lower carb/lower sugar alternatives to my favorite foods, which is how I first learned about Hero Bread in the first place! I also know low-carb bread isn’t some miracle invention, but my body reacts much better to these alternatives so they’re great when I’m craving a sandwich or wrap.
I was surprised by how much I liked these croissants. For starters, they’re SO perfectly flaky with a delicious buttery flavor, you honestly forget you’re eating a low-carb croissant in the first place. There are so many ways you can enjoy these croissants — with your favorite spread, by itself, etc. My favorite way to eat it? As a breakfast sandwich. Egg and cheese sandwiched between this wonderful croissant? Heaven.
Whether you also are looking for lower-carb alternatives or just want a solid croissant option, I highly recommend the Hero Brand croissants!!!
