PEORIA (25News Now) – An Illini Bluffs High School coach remains off the sidelines due to an internal investigation.
Boys Basketball Coach Clay Vass remains on leave while the district investigates allegations of inappropriate conduct.
In a statement provided by the district to 25 News, the district has brought in a third party to investigate.
Citing the ongoing investigation and personnel matters, the district is not disclosing the nature of the allegations.
The district is asking the community for continued patience as the investigation continues, and said it’s committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff.
The full statement from Superintendent Roger Alvey can be read in its entirety below:
“Dear Families and Community Members,
I am writing to inform you of a recent development within our school district. An employee is currently on leave while we conduct a thorough and impartial review of certain matters. In the interest of impartiality, we have engaged a third party to conduct a comprehensive review of the matters which have been brought to our attention. This independent investigation will allow us to obtain and fully understand the actual facts as a first step in this process. We are committed to upholding the integrity of our district and ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
At this time, I ask for your understanding and patience as we allow this process to unfold. We will continue to keep you informed as appropriate, while respecting the privacy of all individuals involved and maintaining confidentiality as dictated by law.
