Junior utility player Ike Irish has been a bright spot for Auburn baseball over the last two seasons, and his third season on the Plains could be his best yet.
Perfect Game released its 2025 preseason All-American team this week, which included the Tiger slugger. Irish is tabbed as the first-team designated hitter.
Irish earns preseason All-American honors after hitting a team-leading .319 batting average last season for Auburn. He slugged at .627 after logging 27 extra-base hits. He tied Cooper McMurray in the home run category by crushing 14 last season, and notched 59 RBI.
Irish returns to an Auburn lineup that features three of last season’s top-five hitters. Irish has led the Tigers in batting average the previous two seasons, hitting .361 and .319 in 2023 and 2024, respectively. He looks to build on his amazing stat line, which features 20 home runs, 109 RBI, and a batting average of .343 over two seasons.
Auburn baseball will begin the season on Friday, Feb. 14 when it opens a three-game series with the Holy Cross Crusaders at Plainsman Park in Auburn.
