Hummels’ lack of playing time due to player’s uneven fitness levels
Mats Hummels continues to struggle for playing time at Roma.
Out of a possible 1080 minutes so far this season, Hummels has only collected 23 minutes to his name.
For Ivan Juric, it is a technical choice, aimed at the good of the team.
However, according to Il Messaggero, there is more to this: the former Borussia Dortmund player is not playing because, according to the technical staff, he would not provide guarantees from a physical point of view.
On Wednesday, in the finishing session against Union SG, Juric had lined up Hummels among the starters, but changed his mind at the end of the match, when Mats reportedly struggled to keep up with his teammates.
Hence the choice to move Cristante back to the defense the following day.
