Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) stated that tonight, July 15, marks the beginning of a period of escalating heat and rising humidity.
“Today marks the beginning of the Al-Hana’a star, during which the heat continues to be intense and the humidity levels increase,” stated the department.
Over the course of the next 13-days, where temperatures will continue their rise and will be at their hottest, QMD warned.
The department also added that this period will also see a reduction in drought-like conditions and an increase in humidity most noticeable along the coast line.
QMD further noted that the seasonal hot, intense, dry wind known locally as ‘Simoom,’ will also intensify until midnight.
These changes in weather patterns contribute to the formation of light fog and a general decrease in wind activity, resulting in calmer winds, it added.
