The Round 9 tri-series in 2024-26 World Cup League 2 action continues between Namibia and the United States in their second set of games on Friday at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amarat, Oman.
The two sides opened the tri-series on Saturday, with the U.S. taking a 114-run victory, 293/8-179. With all three teams having faced each other once, the teams are all 1-1 in the round, with the United States (9-5, 18 points) leading the eight-team competition, Oman (7-5-2, 16 points) in third, and Namibia (6-8, 12 points) in sixth.

In its last match on Wednesday, the U.S. took a seven-wicket loss to Oman, 152/3-151. Even with Saiteja Mukkamalla’s 80 runs on 106 balls, the United States, who chose to bat first, managed just three wickets before Oman was able to win the match. Harmeet Singh bowled 2-20 in his 10 overs.
On Monday, Namibia handed Oman a 23-run defeat, 169-146. Malan Kruger was named Player of the Match with 39 runs on 34 balls, while Jan Balt tallied 35 on 50 and JP Kotze had 29 on 51. Bernard Scholtz bowled 2-26 in 10 overs and Zane Green ended the match with a catch to take Oman’s final wicket.
The League 2 competition will continue through Dec. 2026 with all eight teams hosting three tri-series and playing in all but one of the other competing nations. The United States will host Round 13 in June. The top four finishers in League 2 advance to the 2027 World Cup qualifier, while the bottom four nations move on to the World Cup qualifier playoff.
