New York has not been an especially welcoming place for Aaron Rodgers.
The one-time legendary Green Bay quarterback sat out last season with an injury and has been a solid disappointment to fans in the 2024 season. The playoffs are not technically impossible, but it would take a miracle—a big one—for the Jets to make them.
The Texans, meanwhile, are top of their division, boasting a 6-2 record (compared to the Jets’ 2-6). And they’re hoping to put even more distance between themselves and the Colts. The question is: Can Rodgers and the Jets find some spark of inspiration to stop them—or will they be haunted (sorry) by the bad luck that has followed them all season long?
Here’s how to watch this week’s matchup and what you can expect from Thursday night games tonight (and in the weeks to come).

Maybe—if you live in New York or Houston. Thursday night games are only viewable over the air if you’re in the broadcast zones of the two teams who are playing. If not, you’ll need an Amazon Prime account.
You cannot. Amazon has exclusivity to all Thursday night games, with the exception of Thanksgiving night. Other streaming services can’t carry them.
Play-by-play is handled by the veteran Al Michaels. Kirk Herbstreit will once again contribute color commentary.
The NFL App will let you stream games that are being broadcast locally in your market as well as any played in prime time.
