Keys defeated No. 10 Danielle Collins in the third round (7-6, 2-6, 7-5), No. 6 Elena Rybakina in the fourth (6-3, 1-6, 6-3) and No. 28 Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) to set up a shot at Swiatek and reach the Australian Open semifinals. The 29-year-old has won 10 straight matches dating back to her win at the Adelaide International, which she capped with a victory over No. 1 seed Jessica Pegula, earlier this month.
Swiatek is a five-time Grand Slam winner who has yet to win or reach the finals at the Australian Open, making Thursday’s match the potential gateway to her first career finals appearance in Melbourne. The 23-year-old from Poland has mowed down her competition to this point, winning in straight-sets in all five of her matches and losing just seven games in her past four, including a 6-1, 6-2 win over No. 8 Emma Navarro in the quarterfinals.
The Madison Keys vs. Iga Swiatek match is set for a 4:30 a.m. ET start on ESPN. Live streams are available from FuboTV (free trial), DirecTV Stream (free trial) and SlingTV (free trial).
