Colgate will take on NC State in NCAA Basketball action on Monday night. The teams have started this season on very different paths. NC State is 3-0 to begin the season, while Colgate is 1-2.

The Wolfpack is 3-0 for the fifth consecutive season and the seventh time in eight seasons with Kevin Keatts as head coach. NC State moved to 3-0 with an 82-70 win over Coastal Carolina on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Colgate took a 74-72 loss to Syracuse on Tuesday night. For the second consecutive game, Jayden Taylor led NC State on the offensive end, finishing with 22 points. Taylor ended the game 8-of-15 from the field and made all six of his free throw attempts. Taylor is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game. Also reaching double figures for the Pack on Wednesday night was Brandon Huntley-Hatfield (13), Trey Parker (13) and Dontrez Styles (10)

Trailing by as many as 13 points in the second half, Colgate charged back to tie it in the final two minutes, before a handful of contested shots down the stretch ultimately led to the loss. The Raiders’ Jalen Cox was Tuesday night’s star, finishing with a career-high 21 points, including 15 in the second half to go with six rebounds and three assists. Chandler Baker scored 15 points and knocked down four three-pointers, while Brady Cummins and Parker Jones scored 10 points apiece.

Monday will be the second all-time meeting between NC State and Colgate. The two programs last met on Nov. 13, 2021, with the Pack claiming a tight 77-74 victory. Jeff Woodward (Colgate) and Breon Pass (NC State) both played in that game. Woodward finished with 14 points, while Pass played eight minutes and had one assist.
