Penn State handled its business with a 27-11 win over UCLA during a wild weekend of upsets across college football. The Nittany Lions were far from perfect, but did improve to 5-0 and moved up three spots to No. 7 in this week’s Associated Press poll. Quarterback Drew Allar delivered another efficient effort through the air, completing 17 of 24 passes for 237 yards and a touchdown on a day where Penn State’s ground game had its struggles without injured running back Nicholas Singleton.

USC was among the nationally ranked teams to fall on Saturday, taking a 24-17 road loss to the Minnesota Golden Gophers to fall to 3-2 on the season. The Trojans fell from No. 14 all the way out of the national polls, taking away the ranked-on-ranked component of Saturday’s matchup.
