After winning nine straight games to open the 2024-’25 season, Oregon hit its own version of a rough patch by losing two of its next five games, capped by a 109-77 blowout loss at home to then-No. 22 Illinois. The Ducks have won three straight since suffering their second loss of the season, including back-to-back road battles over Ohio State (73-71) and Penn State (82-81).

Purdue hit an early-season rough patch of its own with a stretch of three losses in four games, but emerged from it with six straight wins, all by double digits and the last five of which in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers enter the weekend half a game behind Michigan State in the league standings with a 6-1 mark after opening with an 81-70 upset loss at Penn State.
