Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula enjoyed superb 2024 seasons, with the pair proudly flying the flag for American women’s tennis.
Gauff has been tipped to become world number one, with the 20-year-old currently occupying third spot in the WTA Tour rankings.
Pegula finished the WTA season seventh in the rankings, with the 30-year-old clinching two tour-level titles.
That was one short of the three of Gauff, who ended her season with a bang by lifting the WTA Finals trophy, during which Pegula withdrew due to injury.
Unsurprisingly, the American stars were rewarded handsomely for their efforts, both in terms of silverware and earnings.
And as per Sportico, the pair were among nine tennis players to make the top 15 highest-paid female athletes list for 2024.
WIth $30.4million in prize money and endorsements, Gauff ranked number one for the second successive year, becoming the third sportswoman to earn over $30million in one year after Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka.

The figure places her behind Iga Swiatek and Qinwen Zheng, who ranked third and fourth respectively with totals of $21.4million and $20.6million.
