The Houston Rockets have announced the conversion of guard Nate Williams to a standard NBA contract.
Williams, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 205 pounds, has been with the Rockets as a two-way player for the past season and a half, playing for the Rockets and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Houston’s NBA G-League affiliate.

During his time with Houston, Williams has appeared in NBA 30 games, averaging 19.1 points per 36 minutes and shooting an impressive 55.6% from the field. This season, he played in 17 G League Showcase and regular season games with Vipers where he averaged 20.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He has appeared in eight Rockets games during the 2024-25 season.
After going undrafted in 2022 out of Buffalo, he spent time with the G-League’s Salt Lake City Stars and the Portland Trail Blazers before joining the Rockets’ organization.
In a related roster move, the Rockets have waived center Cody Zeller.
