Although some did it the old-fashioned way, trends are showing more online spending. According to Adobe Analytics total online consumer expenditure is expected to reach a record $241 billion dollars by the end of holidays, and that is up 8.4% from last year.
The National Retail Federation (NRF) predicting some 49 million people will still shop in person this season. John Bell says he didn’t expect lines to grow so fast.
“When I walked in there, there wasn’t anyone in line. I looked back up there about five minutes later and there were like 25 people. So, I was like. Oh crap, I better get back in line.”
Most stores will be closed on Christmas day.
