Melbourne, Fla. – Clemson senior Chloe Holder finished the first round of the Moon Golf Invitational at -1 (71) to sit tied for third heading into Monday’s second round. Holder is one of just 10 players to finish the round under par at the 6,467-yard, par 72 Classic Course at the Suntree Country Club.
Holder carded two birdies and just one bogey on a day that saw the majority of the field finish over par. Melena Barrientos and Sydney Roberts each finished +5 on the day, followed by Katherine Schuster at +6. Juliette Demeaux finished at +9 and, playing as an individual, Ivy Schulze finished at +13.
As a team, the Tigers are 15th at +15. Florida State leads the 17-team field and is the only team under par (-2). UCF, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Virginia round out the top five, respectively.
