Two-Minute Drill: NFL Scouting Combine set to take place in Indianapolis
The Jaguars and Dolphins have 10 draft picks each while the Buccaneers have 6. Here’s what they’ll be looking for at next week’s NFL Scouting Combine.
ORLANDO — Mandarin defensive lineman/edge rusher Brian Harris has been one of the fastest rising 2026 recruits in Florida over the past few weeks.
His recruiting won’t be slowing down any time soon thanks to his performance at the Under Armour Next Football Camp on Sunday at Bishop Moore High School.
Harris stood out during individual drills and dominated during the 1-on-1 session against some of the state’s top linemen to earn Defensive Line MVP honors.
“I feel like once I dominate one rep, it just piles on and I had a good day,” Harris said. “I knew I had to come out and dominate today.”
“I feel like I make a pretty decent impression coming off the season I had. I had pretty decent season. I tore my ACL my sophomore year, didn’t get as much notoriety, but I came out and made a name for myself.”
Harris, who recently decommitted from Maryland, has been hearing from South Carolina, Penn State, Ole Miss, West Virginia, NC State, Stanford and others.
He primarily lined up on the edge for Mandarin in the fall, but at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds most colleges seeing him as a guy who can line up inside while coming off the edge in certain packages.
Chancellor Barclay, an interior lineman at The First Academy, was an easy pick as the Offensive Line MVP.
The 6-foot-3 ½, 285-pounder showcased his strength and athleticism throughout the combine, and consistently frustrated defensive lineman during 1-on-1 drills.
“I’m blessed with the opportunity, and I had to make it. I’m not going to leave here empty handed,” Barclay said. “I dominated as much I can. I tried multiple positions – I tried center, I tried guard. I’d never played center before. MVP means a lot, especially at this camp.”
Here are some of the other players who impressed Sunday. (Players are listed in alphabetical order.)
Bronaugh, a Nebraska commit, entered into this camp as one of the more intriguing secondary prospects. After highlighting exemplary footwork and angles in drills and frustrating receivers in 1-on-1 reps, Bronaugh was one of the few defensive backs that actually boosted his stock at the Orlando camp.
It was no surprise to see the strong-armed Grubbs take home quarterback MVP honors. The Notre Dame commit showed impressive touch on a few of his completions during wide receiver drills.
Hamlin won MVP of the linebackers group, and for good reason. There were few running backs that were able to create separation against him, and even fewer who could complete a catch with him bearing down.
Henderson was a cut above the rest of the linebacker group on Sunday morning. He went most of the morning without losing a rep in coverage drills, bumping speedy backs off of their routes while catching guys off guard with his deceptive speed. He’s picked up offers from Miami, Texas A&M, FSU, and USC since the start of 2025.
It will be Irving-Jones’ turn to be the workhorse for Venice next year, and he showed on Sunday that he is more than ready to face the murders’ row that is Venice’s schedule. He has an exciting blend of size, speed, and physicality, and punished linebackers however they tried to cover them.
Mack has the lower body of a bruising back, but showed on Sunday he has the burst to leave guys in the dust as well. His speed was deceptively fast, and he had arguably the best hands of any running back. Mack will almost surely get his first Division 1 offer in the coming days, if not sooner.
It’s possible no player helped themselves more than Malpress on Sunday. His impressive length (6-foot-3 205 pounds) and speed immediately stood out. He also showed his ability to win hand battles and won multiple 1-on-1 reps.
Parks received an invite to the Under Armour All-America game on Sunday. The 6-foot-5 Parks moves well and did a nice job holding off defenders during 1-on-1 drills both inside and outside.
Payne, a Florida State commit, has elite size (6-foot-7, 290 pounds) and showed a consistent ability to hold the edge on both sides during 1-on-1 drills.
The younger brother of Miami edge rusher Booker Pickett, Canon Pickett moved well and had several nice blocks during 1-on-1 drills. He put an exclamation point on his performance with a pancake block on the final rep of the day.
Powell was named MVP of the running backs. His change of direction was incredibly difficult to keep up with for linebackers, and his flat-out speed is a weapon against any type of coverage. His recruiting has started to pick up in the last few weeks, and he’ll likely reel in his first Power-4 offer sooner rather than later.
Rodgers, who is one of the top ranked edge rushers in the state, has a prototypical frame and long wing span coupled with an elite first step. He had a couple nice wins during 1-on-1 drills.
Williams came into the camp as one of the nation’s premier rising senior linebackers and lived up to expectations. Williams ran a blistering 4.41-second 40-yard dash and did an outstanding job in coverage against running backs.
Williams has seemed to grow week-by-week this offseason, and his latest display at the camp had plenty of scouts excited for his senior campaign. The big receiver (6-foot-4, 185 pounds) has the speed to blow by 1-on-1 coverage, and is a dangerous vertical threat. He shined against some of the most polished defensive backs in attendance and has gained serious recruiting steam this offseason.
Willis had some strong reps both inside and outside on Sunday. The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder has a strong upper body and also showed a nice swim move to win 1-on-1 reps.
Wortham is largely unranked by major recruiting services, but likely not for much longer. He won the MVP for the receivers’ after embarrassing defensive backs rep after rep with dangerous speed and route-running.
