The high school football season is well underway around the country, and it is time to start tracking how Alabama football commits fared over the past week of high school action.
Each week, The Tuscaloosa News will track how some of the top Alabama football commitments performed during high school games the week before. Here’s a roundup of how some of future Crimson Tide players performed during high school action from the week of Oct. 7.
Duncanville (Duncanville, Texas), QB, 2025
Performance: Russell went 27 of 36 passing for 427 yards and six touchdowns in Duncanville’s win over DeSoto (Texas). Five games into his senior season, Russell has gone 117 of 156 for 1,864 yards and 26 touchdowns with one rushing touchdown. He has only been intercepted once this season.
Carver (Montgomery, Alabama), RB, 2025
Performance: Rogers had two touchdown receptions in Carver’s 31-26 loss to Central-Phenix City last week. He also added a kickoff return for a touchdown, but it was ultimately called back after a penalty.
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California), LB, 2025
Performance: The four-star recorded six tackles in Mater Dei’s 28-7 win last week. Sanders Jr. is up to 31 tackles, three pass deflections, two sacks, one interception and one quarterback hurry on the season.
Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills, California), TE, 2025
Performance: The four-star tight end recorded five receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns in Oak Ridge’s win last week. On the defensive side of the ball, he added five total tackles.
Winton Woods (Cincinnati, Ohio), EDGE, 2025
Performance: The four-star future wolf edge rusher tallied two tackles for the second-straight week in Winton Woods’ 12-7 win last week.

Blue Valley (Stillwell, Kansas), LB, 2025
Performance: The four-star future wolf recorded five tackles to go with one sack, one quarterback hurry and a forced fumble in Blue Valley’s 27-21 win last week.
Mill Creek (Hoschton, Georgia), LB, 2025
Performance: Metz recorded eight total tackles, one for loss, along with three quarterback hurries in Mill Creek’s 13-12 loss to Collins Hill (GA) last week.
Quitman (Quitman, Mississippi), RB, 2025
Performance: Dear saw some time under center in Quitman’s 34-33 loss to Northeast Jones (MS), completing 7 of 9 passes for 135 yards and two scores and one interception. He carried the ball 22 times for an additional 190 yards and a touchdown.
Vigor (Mobile, Alabama), EDGE, 2027
Performance: The four-star recorded four tackles, three of those for loss, along with three quarterback hurries and one sack in Vigor’s 48-7 win over Faith Academy last week.
Moody (Moody, Alabama), EDGE, 2027
Performance: The four-star tallied eight total tackles, two of those for loss, to go with three quarterback hurries and two sacks in Moody’s 38-22 win over Leeds.
