CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women’s tennis team will be back in action this week, as the duo of Sima Heren and Oihane Vicario will be competing at the ITA Conference Masters. Play at the ITA Conference Masters will begin on Thursday, November 7 and will take place at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
The duo will open the tournament against the third-seeded tandem of Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres of East Tennessee State, with the Round of 32 match set for a 5:30 p.m. start on Thursday, November 7.
Heren and Vicario earned a spot in the ITA Conference Masters after winning the doubles title at the inaugural Horizon League Individual Championships last month, picking up four wins throughout the three-day tournament.
For the season, Heren and Vicario own an 8-1 record, including a 3-0 mark at the Rocket Indoor Invite last time out. On their careers, Heren and Vicario have a 16-7 record as a doubles team, making them one of 17 Cleveland State tandems with 15+ wins as a team.
From the ITA Conference Masters, three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship later this month, with the champions, runner-up and third place teams earning a spot in the national tournament.
