The Augusta National Golf Club is hiring a historian who will also serve as a curator and archivist. According to the job posting online, this person will be responsible for managing, preserving and enhancing the past, present and future physical and intellectual history of the club. They will also reinforce the club’s stance as a significant contributor to the history of golf.

It’s an Augusta-based job. Here are some of the other duties involved with this position:

• Act as head of research on all internal and external historical inquiries.
• Implement a wide-reaching heritage program focused primarily on the collection, organization, preservation, interpretation and exhibition of the history of the club, the Masters, and Masters Tournament Foundation initiatives.
• Develop and propose potential business opportunities that put the archival collection to use.
• Uphold and further develop security procedures to ensure the safety of all historical materials.
• Oversee acquisition plans for expanding/improving assets that tell the story of the club and the Masters.
