A fight in which a player was headbutted and punches thrown during a regional cricket match in Victoria has been caught on camera and streamed live to YouTube.
The aggression occurred during a Cricket Latrobe Valley A grade match between the Traralgon Rovers and Gormandale cricket clubs at Duncan Cameron Memorial Park in Traralgon, in the state’s east.
The atmosphere became heated late in the 43rd over, when a Rovers batter ran through for a single and appeared to make contact with the Gormandale bowler as he made his way to the other end of the pitch.
A heated discussion followed as the bowler returned to his mark, before headbutting the batter after he removed his helmet.
The video shows the umpire intervening and the bowler walking away, before returning and striking the batter multiple times.

Other players then rushed to the centre of the ground, where another Gormandale player grabbed the batter in a headlock and threw him to the ground.
The batter eventually resumed his innings, while the bowler did not bowl again in the match.
Traralgon Rovers won the two-day match by two wickets.
Video of the brawl was broadcast on the Traralgon Rovers’ YouTube channel, which was live streaming the match.
Police said “no formal report” had been made and Cricket Latrobe Valley declined to comment.
The ABC understands the umpire has submitted a report to the league, which will follow its own processes with regards to the incident.
Following the match, the Traralgon Rovers released a statement saying the club did not condone violence in sport.
It also said it would not comment further out of respect for the individuals involved and because the matter was under investigation by the league.
In a social media statement, the Gormandale Cricket Club said violent incidents had no place in cricket.
“Our sport has always been — and should always be — a safe and inclusive environment for everyone who participates in the game,” the statement read.
“We acknowledge that this is a sensitive issue for many involved and out of respect for those affected we will not be making any further comments at this time.”
The club asked for “kindness as our volunteers work diligently to support everyone affected” and asked people to understand that there were real people involved “who are still processing what occurred”.
