CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Caroline head men’s golf coach Jacob Wilner has announced Sam Harned as the program’s new assistant golf coach.
Harned played four years at Nevada (2017-21) and served as the team captain from 2019-21. He was a three-time participant at the NCAA Regionals with the Wolfpack and was a two-time All-Mountain West performer.
He won the 2024 Laramie Open Championship (-8) and the 2024 Redding Pro-Am (-17). Harned also tied for fourth at the 2024 Wyoming Open (-12).
In 2023 he was a conditional member of the Korn Ferry Tour and was a member of the Canadian Tour in 2021.
He picked up a win at the 2020 Goodwin Classic hosted by Stanford and the 2019 Badger Invitational hosted by Wisconsin.
“Sam Harned is going to be a great college golf coach,” Wilner said. “He has the playing history, calm demeanor and an endless smile that will bring comfort to our athletes. I’m so excited to have him begin his coaching career with us at Coastal Carolina.”
He graduated from Nevada in 2021 with a degree in General Business and Marketing.
