In the 1996 movie “Happy Gilmore,” Happy saves his grandmother’s home from foreclosure by winning the Tour Championship filmed at a Canadian golf course.
But in the anticipated sequel, Happy, played by Adam Sandler, will make an appearance at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster. According to a memo from the trustees of the club garnered by GOLF.com, most of the movie scenes will be filmed at Fiddler’s Elbow, the only 54-hole club in the state.
GOLF.com reported that shooting will be begin in early October and last about two months, using its three 18-hole golf courses as movie settings.

That news might not be so welcome for golfers who are not fans of a hockey player turned golfer. According to the memo, GOLF.com said, three holes will likely be shut down for the season — and another hole will be shut down for two weeks. The golf season on the Forest Course will be extended to accommodate members.
But, the memo continued, keep your camera phones away as no autographs or photos will be allowed. Netflix has mandated that nothing can be posted to social media prior to the movie’s 2025 premiere.
Besides Sandler, Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club members might also spot Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who Sandler said will be in the movie, as well as professional golfers — and possibly stars from the original film, such as Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin.

GOLF.com noted that Happy Gilmore 2’s release will coincide with Fiddler’s Elbow 60th anniversary. The club’s memo said that the anniversary will include a party showing the movie’s premiere.
“[The film] picks up from an older guy who’s played golf a long time,” Sandler said on Travis and Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast. “Some stuff goes on in his life — he’s a little, he’s different. He’s a bit of a mess when you meet Happy. And then we try to get his life cooking again.”
