Almost three decades after he first starred in the breakout comedy movie, it was announced this past May that Netflix was officially moving forward with a sequel to 1996’s Happy Gilmore. The long-awaited follow-up will be directed by Kyle Newacheck, who worked with Sandler on 2019’s Murder Mystery. The script, meanwhile, will be penned by Tim Herlihy and Sandler. On Christmas Day, Netflix shared the first extended look and teaser for Happy Gilmore 2, which carries a bit of a holiday and general Christmas theme. It also highlights some of the returning cast members, including Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald in their respective roles as Virginia Venit and the villainous Scooter McGavin.

The brief preview features some of the film’s supporting cast, including NFL star Travis Kelce as a worker who’s tending to Happy. AEW wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) is one of several actors seen in a huddle with Sandler’s character, wearing a blue shirt. He’s rumored to be playing one of Happy’s children.
