Cincinnati Reds infielder Elly De La Cruz is among 20 MLB finalists for the 2024 Hank Aaron Award, an honor recognizing the most outstanding regular season offensive performer.
There are 10 finalists in each league. The other National League finalists include the Milwaukee Brewers’ William Contreras, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman, the Philadelphia Phillies’ Bryce Harper, the New York Mets’ Francisco Lindor, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte, the San Diego Padres’ Jackson Merrill, the Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani, the Atlanta Braves’ Marcell Ozuna and the Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber, a former Middletown High School standout.
MLB legends including Reds Hall of Famers Johnny Bench and Ken Griffey Jr., Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Chipper Jones, Pedro Martínez, John Smoltz, Craig Biggio, Eddie Murray and Robin Yount cast votes for their choices for the honor. Fans also can vote through Sunday (October 13) at MLB.com/aaron.
Hank Aaron Award winners will be announced live from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan Thursday, November 14 during the “All-MLB Team Show presented by MGM Rewards.”
