The ATP Finals are currently ongoing in Turin with the world’s best male players looking to claim one final title this year.
Jannik Sinner is the world number one at a canter and he will be aiming to avenge a defeat to Novak Djokovic in last year’s final.
Elsewhere, Carlos Alcaraz climbed off his sick bed to defeat Andrey Rublev on Wednesday and keep his hopes of the last four alive.
The tournament is always an eagerly awaited one and for the players, it’s a chance to win something that essentially sees the world’s best do battle.
Greg Rusedski was the Great Britain number one during his career and achieved a career-high of number four in the world rankings.
Now, he’s had his say on who he thinks might compete in the final at this year’s end-of-season event.
With Alcaraz nursing some sort of illness, it might take an effort that even he’s not capable of to reach the final here.
Indeed, Rusedski doesn’t think he will make the final in Turin.
Instead he’s plumped for a battle between the world’s two best players – Sinner and Alexander Zverev.
He posted on X: “Really enjoying Tennis TV commentary. Shame no Novak this year in Turin, but right move to recover and get ready for 2025. Sinner and Zverev looking on a crash course for final show down. Semi-final prediction – Sinner/Zverev/Fritz and Alcaraz.
Well, it wasn’t a tournament that really brought the best out of the Canadian-born player.
Rusedski entered twice in 1997 and in 1998 and failed to make it out of the group stages on both occasions.
In 1997, he only played two of his three matches before withdrawing with a hamstring injury before his final match.
He lost in straight sets to Pete Sampras and was beaten in three sets by Australian star Pat Rafter before missing out on a match with Carlos Moya.
In 1998, Rusedski was called in to replace Andre Agassi but again failed to win a match.
He lost to Tim Henman in straight sets and also lost a match where he faced Marcelo Rios and Albert Costa with Rios withdrawing halfway through.
