FARMINGDALE, N.Y. | In preparation for this coming weekend’s (Sept. 29-30) Skyline Conference Championship, the Farmingdale State College golf team won Friday’s eight-team FSC Skyline Invitational with a plus-20 score of 300 on Bethpage State Park’s Red Course.
Rams senior Brad Castaldy (Dix Hills, N.Y.) was one of two players two finish with a round of 74 (plus-4), and advanced to a playoff with eventual medalist Connor Hill of Manhattanville University. Three FSC student-athletes tied for third one stroke behind Castaldy and Hill, including senior Mackenzie Kim (East Quogue, N.Y.), sophomore Padruig Douglas (Northport, N.Y.) and freshman Rishi Talwar (East Farmingdale, N.Y.) – who competed as an individual. Rounding out Farmingdale State’s scoring quartet was freshman Liam Blanc (Fairfield, Conn.), who tied for seventh at a plus-6 round of 76, while sophomore CJ Merritt’s (Plainview, N.Y.) score of 77 tied for ninth.
The 36-hole Skyline championship will take place Sunday and Monday on Bethpage’s red course, with opening tee times slated for 9 a.m. both mornings.
