NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Winners at a golf outing for the Healthy Kids Initiative donated their $500 check to the North Ridgeville City Schools.
Nick Dettwiller, Mike Belpulsi and Matt Ponting were competing in the Independence-based Health Action Council’s fifth annual Healthy Kid Golf Outing last month when they made the generous donation after scooping first place in the competition.
The event was held at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio, and was open to school leaders, healthcare benefit decision makers and healthcare professionals.
“The Healthy Kids Initiative is very important to Health Action Council, and we’re glad that we can raise awareness for the initiative and host such a fun event at the same time,” said Patty Starr, president and chief executive officer of Health Action Council.
“Our champions donated their winnings to local schools, exemplifying our goal of forging a better and healthier community for the next generation.”
She added that the outing supports the Health Action Council Healthy Kids Initiative to promote improved health and wellness for children, schools and communities.
She thanked sponsors CVS Health, CBIZ and Chesrown.
Health Action Council created the Healthy Kids Campaign to engage students and their families, employers, schools and communities in promoting improved health and wellness.
The initiative aims to encourage childhood preventable disease vaccinations, increase annual well-child doctor visits, keep children active, promote healthy nutrition and enhance health literacy.
