Golf scramble raises funds for Effingham Health System
EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – Friday’s chilly weather did not stop golfers from hitting the green to support a growing health care system.
The Effingham Health System Foundation held its first-ever charity golf scrabble. About 70 players made the rounds at Crosswinds Golf Club in Pooler.
The scramble is all about raising funds to help with capital needs for the Effingham Health System as it grows. The goal is to raise five million dollars in five years to support pediatrics, senior care and cancer care.
“This system is growing at an enormous rate,” said foundation director Scott Russell. “The county is growing at an enormous rate. And we want to be there to help that healthcare system grow into the future and support the needs of that community.”
The Effingham Health System Foundation was organized in 2018 as the philanthropic arm for Effingham Health System.
The mission of the non-profit is to provide awareness and financial resources that support the delivery of quality healthcare within the community.
