Becky Sheetz Memorial Golf Tournament held
The Altoona Sunrise Rotary Club presented checks to The Arc of Blair County and Special Olympics from proceeds of the 29th annual Becky Sheetz Memorial Golf Tournament.
Becky Sheetz was a strong advocate for people with disabilities until her untimely death from breast cancer at the age of 38. The Becky Sheetz Recreation Center was named in her memory and now houses The Arc of Blair County and serves individuals with developmental disabilities.
Participating in the check ceremony were the platinum sponsors, many of whom have sponsored the tournament since its infancy. Platinum sponsors include: 84 Lumber, Coca Cola, The DeGol Organization, Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Reliance Bank, Sheetz Inc. and The Sheetz Family.
