IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG/Gray News) – A sheriff’s office in Iowa is investigating the drowning death of a golf course employee found in a pond on the course.
Investigators said the body of 38-year-old Christopher Plowman, of Tiffin, Iowa, was found in a pond at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Plowman was an employee of the golf course.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they learned Plowman was trapped under a piece of maintenance equipment. How he became trapped or how long he was in the water is unknown.
First responders reported he was already dead when rescuers pulled him out of the water.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said they are still investigating.
