ANNAPOLIS, MD — A new mother died two days after a golf cart accident in Annapolis, police announced Wednesday.
Officers identified the victim as golf cart passenger Mary Blasetti, 32, of Annapolis.
An online fundraiser for her family said she and her husband, Nick Blasetti, have a 2-month-old daughter and had recently bought their first home together.

The GoFundMe has raised over $290,000 so far. The goal is $350,000. About 1,700 people have donated. Donations are still being accepted at this link.
“Mary Beth brought joy to so many and had a wide community of friends and family who are devastated by her sudden passing,” fundraiser organizer Olivia McKenna said on the GoFundMe page. “She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.”

The victim graduated from the University of West Virginia and was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority, WJZ reported, citing a Facebook post.
Authorities said they were called Saturday around 7:24 p.m. for the accident in the 600 block of Maid Marion Road. That’s located in Sherwood Forest, a private community on the Severn River.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said the victim “sustained life-threatening injuries in an incident involving an E-Z-GO golf cart.”
Officers said the victim was airlifted to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
She died on Monday, authorities said.
Police didn’t list any injuries for the unidentified golf cart driver.
“This is an extremely tragic, unfortunate situation,” AACoPD spokesperson Justin Mulcahy told WJZ. “Our hearts go out to everyone impacted and we’re going to continue investigating it with the State’s Attorney’s Office just to determine what exactly happened here.”
