VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton golf team announced Thursday two additions to the program. Jack Tebeau and Alex Patel have signed on to join the Bearcats at the start of the 2025-26 season.
“We are very excited for Jack Tebeau and Alex Patel to be joining our program,” said Binghamton Head Golf Coach Bernie Herceg. “Both athletes are great students and outstanding golfers who had tremendous junior careers. We look forward to a great future with their high character and golfing talents.”
Tebeau will arrive in Binghamton as one of the most accomplished junior golfers in the state of New York. While competing for St. Francis High School, the Hamburg, N.Y., native has won three All-Catholic boys individual golf championships with the Monsignor Martin High School Athletic Association and took first at the 2024 New York State Federation Golf Championship. He also competed in the championship flight at the 2024 International Junior Masters. Additionally, Tebeau won the 2021 Buffalo District Golf Association Sub-Junior Match Play championship.
Patel has also found success during his junior career. Back in May, the Madison, N.J., native won the individual North II Group II section championship while playing for Madison High School. Patel would then finish tied for 20th at the 2024 NJSIAA State Boys Golf Tournament of Champions. Patel has also performed strongly on the New Jersey PGA Junior Tour. In 2022, Patel finished in the top four in all six events he competed in, winning both the NJPGA Junior Section Championship and the NJPGA Mountain Classic. In 2024, he finished second at the Mountain Classic and tied for second at the New Jersey Junior PGA Championship.
Binghamton is preparing for its spring season after a strong finish to its fall slate. The Bearcats finished second at its home event, the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, for the second season in a row on Oct. 7. On Oct. 20, for its final tournament of the fall, the Lehigh Invitational, Brandon Conner became the first Binghamton golfer to earn medalist honors since Ryan Rodriguez won the Navy Invitational in 2019. In the opening round, he tied the second-lowest score in program history relative to par at 67/5-under par. He was the only golfer in the 45-man field to finish the tournament under par, posting a score of 141/3-under the par.
The Bearcats will announce their spring schedule on a later date.
