The New Orleans Pelicans travel to the Chase Center to battle the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. Here’s a Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction. This article will include a Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans Pick.
The New Orleans Pelicans kicked off their season with back-to-back wins before they got stopped in their tracks by the Trail Blazers in a 125-103 road defeat on Sunday. CJ McCollum led the team with 27 points, four rebounds, and four steals, Jordan Hawkins added 17 points off the bench while Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram scored 14 points apiece.
As a team, the Pelicans shot just 43 percent from the field and eight of 29 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the intensity of the Trail Blazers from the start, scoring just 22 points in the second quarter to trail by 12 points going into halftime and things only got worse in the second half. Williamson played 28 minutes but shot just three of 12 from the field while committing three turnovers.
As a team, the Warriors shot just 43 percent from the field and 14 of 43 from the 3-point line as they showed plenty of fight to cut a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to just one point before the Clippers went on a final run to slip away in the end. Buddy Hield had a rough game as he finished with just eight points on three of 14 shooting from the field and one of nine shooting from the 3-point line.
The Pelicans are still missing some key players with Trey Murphy and Dejounte Murray both out, while the Warriors have already ruled out Stephen Curry and they have Andrew Wiggins listed as questionable. This is definitely a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff given the injury cloud hanging over the Warriors’ Wiggins, but considering that Curry is already ruled out, I am happy to side with the Pelicans to take advantage and cover the short line.
