The Golden Isles of Georgia have once again secured the top spot in Travel + Leisure’s esteemed 2024 World’s Best Awards. Named #1 Best Islands in the Continental US, they stand out among the country’s over 18,000 islands.
The Golden Isles, encompassing St. St. Simons Island. Simons Island, and the historic port city of Brunswick, garnered praise for their stunning natural landscapes, beaches, wide array of activities, rich history, dining choices, hospitality, and exceptional overall value.

The Golden Isles has consistently held the top spot in this category in 2023 and 2020, marking its tenth consecutive year of recognition. Additionally, it ranked 15th on the list of World’s Best Islands, among over 900,000 islands worldwide.
With miles of tranquil beaches, serene maritime forests, a plethora of outdoor activities, unique coastal wildlife, and a rich culinary scene, the Golden Isles is a must-visit destination for travelers.
Every year, Travel + Leisure conducts its World’s Best Awards, based on a survey of over 186,000 readers. These results reflect the dynamic trends in global travel, spotlighting destinations that resonate with today’s travelers.
