We’re learning more and more about the new Wildcats ahead of Kentucky‘s first season under Mark Pope. As the Blue-White Preseason Event and first exhibition inch closer, a video series from UK introduces each new player from a roster full of new players.
On Thursday, a sitdown with Kerr Kriisa revealed more about the Estonian guard, who is the first No. 77 in the history of the program. Kerr explains in the video why he is wearing 77 at Kentucky and the nine-time NBA champion behind his first name. The latter is pretty easy to guess.
Kriisa also talks about the Kentucky name and being part of a prestigious program. “I’m excited to play with my teammates and just represent Kentucky, really,” he says. “We all take a lot of pride in it, just to have Kentucky on the front of our jersey. That’s what I am really looking forward to.”
Learn more about Kriisa as BBN counts down to the season in UK’s video below. Only one more day until Friday night’s Blue-White game, and then the first exhibition game in Rupp Arena next Wednesday. It’s almost here.
