OSU football falls to West Virginia, extends losing streak to three
The Oklahoma State football team suffered a 38-14 home loss to West Virginia on Saturday.
Oklahoma State quarterback Garret Rangel will be “out awhile,” coach Mike Gundy told the media after Friday night’s 38-35 loss to BYU.
Rangel exited the contest late in the second quarter after he broke free for a 54-yard run. OSU sideline reporter Robert Allen reported that the redshirt sophomore suffered a collarbone injury.
Gundy said Rangel was out, but didn’t offer any specifics on the timeframe of the injury.
“I don’t know, but he’ll be out awhile,” Gundy said. “It’s hard for me to predict.”

Friday’s contest marked the first start of the season for Rangel, who replaced the struggling Alan Bowman. Rangel completed 6 of his 9 passes (66.7%) for 51 yards, one touchdown and one interception prior to his injury, and he ran the ball five times for 77 yards.
Bowman entered the game at quarterback for OSU. The seventh-year quarterback started in the Cowboys‘ first six contests of the season.
“Bowman’s in. Rangel’s out. It is what it is,” Gundy said during his halftime radio interview.
