PALM CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — Martin County Fire Rescue (MCFR) battled a garage fire that was sparked by a plugged-in golf cart on Thursday.
MCFR says its crews responded to the fire just before 2 p.m. near SW San Antonio Drive in Palm City. Upon arrival, firefighters found a home with a three-car garage in flames.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire and stop it from spreading into other parts of the home. The homeowner told MCFR that they were outside when they began smelling smoke and found the fire spreading from a plugged-in golf cart. The homeowner was able to evacuate with their dog and escape unharmed.
Photos show firefighters with their water hose putting out flames in a charred garage.
There was a lot of fire and smoke damage, but there were no injuries due to the fire.
MCFR says the State Fire Marshal has been notified.
