Snowshoe, WVA – The Fayetteville State University golf team finished in fifth place at the Dr. Wally Edgell Invitational hosted by Davis Elkins at the Raven Golf Club in Snowshoe, WVest Virginia The team scored a total of 914 over 72 holes, with sophomore Allan Terrazas leading the Broncos with a fourth-place ranking on the leaderboard, scoring 220 (+4).
Charleston (WV) emerged victorious with a total score of 883 (+19), across all three rounds (+9, +2, +8). Davis & Elkins secured second place with a score of 889(+25), while West Liberty climbed to third place with a 895(+31). Bluefield State finished fourth at 901(+37), and Fayetteville State rounded out the top five with a 914(+50), despite a challenging third round (+31).
Terrazas, a native of Mexico City, Mexico, surged ahead in the third round, recording four birdies and bringing his tournament total to eleven.
Sophomore Donald Barnett, from Antioch, IL, scored 241(+25) while other teammates junior Jack McCarthy, from Winston-Salem, NC, scored 242 (+26), and freshman Sutton Dreier, scored 243(+27).
The golf team will travel to West Liberty, WVA to compete in the Hannastown Collegiate Invitational on September 23-24.
