ST. ALBANS — As part of our ongoing work to digitize our film archives, here is a set of photos taken 50 years ago during this week in February of 1975.
A shopkeeper looks through watches and jewelry, and children get checked up by a primary physician. Images of people walking through downtown St. Albans in the snow also populate this collection.
More photos reveal a fitness fad gaining popularity throughout the U.S. during the 70s. Women wearing leotards and tights take on pilates machines during a workout.
Do you recognize any of these fashionably fit ladies? We would also love to learn more about the gym they are using and if it’s still open today in some form.
Finally, there are photos of men tending to cows and chickens, a stark reminder that even though fitness fads may come and go, some Franklin County’s farming traditions have a way of sticking.
