Fitness passes for county recreation centers will continue to be free for residents next year.
The county will extend the free program, County Executive Marc Elrich said Tuesday.
“We make it a little bit easier to stay fit and healthy,” Elrich said during a media briefing, noting expensive gym membership fees.
It will be the third year for the free passes, which were first offered in 2023. The pass applies to fitness rooms, open gym activities, and game rooms at any community recreation center in the county. It does not apply to pool access, which still requires a fee or a pool pass.
County residents can sign-up for the free pass at a community center. Proof of residency must be provided, according to Montgomery County Recreation.
