Frances Tiafoe of the United States begins his quest to re-establish himself as a force on the hard court as he takes on Taro Daniel of Japan in the first round of the 2025 Dallas Open on Monday. Tiafoe has lost 8 of his last 14 matches since reaching the semifinal of the 2024 US Open championship. The American had an underwhelming campaign in the Land Down Under, reaching the second round of both the Brisbane International and the Australian Open. It only took one match before Daniel got sent home as he lost to Tristan Schookate 6-7(6) 7-6(4) 6-1 6-4 in the first round of the Australian Open. The Japanese ranks 116th in the world.
