An All-American battle is about to unfold in the semifinal round of the Citi Open as No.4 seed Sebastian Korda takes on No.5 seed Frances Tiafoe with a spot in the men’s singles finals on the line. Sabastian Korda will shoot for a place in the finals after going through a battery of tough matches. The American punched his ticket to the finals after topping Jordan Thompson of Australia 6-4, 6-2. The 24-year-old Korda hasn’t won an ATP title since bagging the 2021 Emilia-Romagna Open. Frances Tiafoe won his biggest match in two years, defeating Andray Rublev 6-4, 7-6(7-3). Tiafoe already has ten wins over current or former top-10 ATP players, although it took him two years to follow up his decisive victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas 1–6, 7–6(13–11), at the 2022 Laver Cup. Tiafoe is seeking his fourth career ATP title and first since capturing the Stuttgart Open in June 2023.
