Ben Christman, the former Revere high school football player found dead in Las Vegas on Feb. 11, died of natural causes in his sleep, according to his obituary.
Christman played football at Ohio State University for two years before transferring to Kentucky in 2023 where he graduated with honors. He most recently played as a graduate student at the University of Nevada Las Vegas earlier this winter. He died the day before his 22nd birthday.
“Those who knew Ben will remember him for his joyful spirit, kind heart and unshakeable commitment to those around him,” the obituary stated. “He leaves behind a family who adored him, friends and teammates who admired him, and a community who will forever cherish the impact he made during his brief time with us.”
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Akron. A memorial service will be at the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
The family asks for donations to be given to the Ben Christman Memorial Scholarship Fund.
