CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Jamie Cavey Lang, who starred for the Hawkeyes from 2001-2005 and later called games on the radio, died this weekend.
Cavey Lang was 41. She played in 115 games for the Hawkeyes, making the NCAA tournament in 2002 as a freshman and 2004 as a junior. She averaged a career-best 16.8 points per game as a junior, good for sixth in the Big Ten.
Her 7.1 rebounds per game in her senior season were good for seventh in the conference. She was named All-Big Ten as a junior and senior
She later paired with Rob Brooks as the color commentator for Iowa women’s basketball radio broadcasts.
She is survived by her husband, Mike, three children, Vincent, Bennett and Sydney, and parents Patrick and Pam Cavey.
Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2024, at The Celebration Farm, located at 4696 Robin Woods Lane NE, Iowa City.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Solon.
