A new, premier urban industrial complex, Race Track Logistics, in Pompano Beach, Fla., has broken ground.
Developed by Rockpoint, it is a 139,354 m2 (1.5 million sf), 35.2 ha (87 acres), Class A industrial park on the site of a former horse racing track and will consist of eight buildings.
Phase one of the project will comprise 57,668 m2 (620,738 sf) across four buildings.
Frampton Construction Company, a full-service construction company, will complete the site’s development and construct Phase one, which includes grading, drainage, vertical construction of four buildings, and exterior landscaping.
Additionally, the construction firm will work on a two-story storefront glass, design an entrance facade with architectural panels and feature walls on all buildings, and construct a thermoplastic polyolefin roofing system for weather resistance and energy efficiency. The buildings will include a 914.4 mm (36 in.) clear height and 165 dock doors with two drive-in doors per building.
The extensive landscaping is designed with a “municipality mindset” to match similar landscaping projects around Pompano Beach. It will feature green space surrounding parking lots, roadways, and multiple precast concrete walls to shade truck ports.
Construction began in July and is estimated to be completed by September 2025.
