Former Georgia walk-on running back Gleaton Jones died on Friday due to injuries sustained in a car crash on Tuesday.
Jones sustained a severe brain injury and was placed in intensive care. He was an Albany, Georgia, native who graduated from Deerfield-Windsor Academy and joined the Georgia football program in 2021.
The UGA Barstool Instagram account shared a post on Friday afternoon announcing Jones’ death and how he “proudly wore the red and black and will be remembered by us all.” The comments quickly filled with hearts and kind words about Jones.
Jones’ brother, Cole, commented, “Gleat fights on. Damn good Dawg and a damn good brother.”
