The Barclay Group, a Tampa-based commercial developer, purchased 2.07 acres at the Winn-Dixie-anchored Shoppes at Pelican Preserve along Colonial Boulevard near Treeline Avenue in Fort Myers from CR Pelican Preserve LLC for $2.21 million. LQ Commercial handles the leasing and sales at Pelican Preserve, with Bob Pekol and Jessica McEvoy at the project’s helm. Slated as phase two of the project, LQ Commercial officials said a 40,000-square-foot fitness center is being discussed to make for Colonial’s only wellness anchor east of Interstate 75. Officials didn’t reveal the name of the fitness brand.
