The fitness center at the Shanna & Bryan Glazer JCC has been named in honor of Leon Mezrah as a lasting legacy to one of its founders and most avid members.
The tribute was inspired by Leon’s 90th birthday.
“Honoring my father, Leon, with the naming of the fitness center is a lifetime goal in further establishing his legacy. His commitment to health and growing people perfectly aligns with the spirit of the fitness center,” said Todd Mezrah. The naming gift was made by Todd and wife Shari, along with their children, Max and Sammy.
Since its opening, almost eight years ago, the Shanna & Bryan Glazer JCC has transformed the historic Fort Homer Hesterly Armory into a thriving center for community engagement, fitness, education and so much more. Spanning 50,000 square feet, the newly named Leon Mezrah Fitness Center, is designed to cater to all aspects of health and wellness.
The fitness center is equipped with world-class amenities, including state-of-the-art cardio machines featuring personal viewing screens, a wide range of free weights, power squat racks, and a dedicated functional training area. This diverse selection of equipment ensures that members of all fitness levels can find the tools they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Leon is a dedicated and inspirational regular at the fitness center. He is seen daily, exercising alongside many of the center’s other 5,600 members.
“Todd and I feel that bringing legacy to family and giving back to the community is core to our identity. I’m so proud to be Leon’s daughter,” said Shari Mezrah.
“We invite everyone to join us in honoring Leon Mezrah and to take advantage of all the exceptional recources available at the Shanna & Bryan Glazer JCC,” said Alissa Fischel, chief development and engagement officer.
