The Bay Village fitness studio, 574 Dover Center Road, focuses on training the community’s older demographic.

Chuck Collins said he wanted to bring affordable fitness to the community.
“I saw an opportunity to get rid of the red tape that comes with gym memberships,” he said. “We wanted to provide an affordable service to our community.”
The studio offers personal training and yoga.
Sarah Collins runs the yoga sessions twice a week.
Chuck Collins’ oldest client is his mother, Marian Taylor, who is 84.
“The reason why the majority of our clients are in their 60s and 70s is because of the fact that falling is inevitable,” Collins said. “I want to prepare people in this next stage of their lives.”
Collins said he wants to focus on the functional component of fitness.
He also said he wants his clients to feel confident cutting grass or tending to their gardens.
“We tailor a workout that kind of mimics moves that you’re doing when you’re in your day to day,” Collins said. “Over time, muscle memory will infiltrate our daily routines.”
The personalized workouts last 45 minutes that targets the entire body, he said.
Collins said he sets up series of six to eight exercises that are included in the sessions.
“I implement TRX training, which is suspension training,” he said. “It allows people whose knees might not be as strong to be able to have something to hold onto while they gain the confidence to build a squat.”
Collins said he wants to focus on commitment rather than weight loss.
“I didn’t want to make the training just about losing weight or gaining muscle,” Collins said. “I just wanted to be like ‘look at you, you stuck to something for a year.’ ”
