ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (Gray News) – The mother of a 2-month-old girl in Maryland died after she was injured in a tragic golf cart crash, according to authorities.
On Nov. 9, Anne Arundel County Police were called to help an injured person, according to a news release.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that 32-year-old Mary Blasetti had sustained life-threatening injuries in an incident involving an E-Z-GO golf cart,” police said.
Blasetti was airlifted and taken to a hospital where she died from her injuries on Monday.
Officials identified Blasetti as the passenger, however, they didn’t name the driver of the golf cart, who was listed as a 32-year-old woman.
Authorities believe at a certain point, the two women hit some sort of a dip. That’s when Blasetti was ejected from the golf cart, WJZ reported.
According to a GoFundMe page, Blasetti and her husband Nick Blasetti recently purchased their first home in Annapolis and welcomed their daughter in September.
“She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her,” the fundraising page said.
